Update on Field Hockey for Fall 2023
As many may know, Kathy Gulbish has retired after many years with the program.
For the Fall of 2023, Greg Aroneo has agreed to take over as coach for the program, and Mead Briggs will be helping him.
Centercourt Field Hockey will be providing the training.  Please click HERE to view the bios for the Centercourt Training Staff.

We will have a grades 5/6 team and a 7/8 team with the Mid NJ Youth Field Hockey League.
Open to residents in Long Hill, Warren, Watchung, and Green Brook, grades 5-8 for Fall 2023.

Registration for the program is open until 8/25.
Game Season runs 9/10 - early Nov.
5/6 team does not have play-offs, but the 7/8 team will in Nov.
Teams will have a target cap of 22 players each.  Register early.  Wait lists will be established if necessary.  If there is enough interest to add a second team at either/both levels, we will attempt to.

Registration fee is $165 for the season plus the cost of the uniform if you need one.

Training for all teams as follows:
Mondays and Thursdays, 6pm - 8pm beginning 8/28
Games will start September 10th--mostly on Sundays.  Rarely, an away team might request an alternate day to make up a game.

Home Games:  Kantor Park Turf, Sunday afternoons, 12-5pm

Away Games:  Currently the following towns are participating:  Branchburg, Bridgewater, Chatham, Clark, Cranford, Glen Ridge, Hillsborough, Maplewood/So. Orange, Metuchen, Morristown/Morris Plains, No. Hunterdon, Scotch Plains/Fanwood, Berkeley Heights, Madison, Westfield, Basking Ridge.

SCHEDULE--Click HERE
Please note--this is tentative.  Game times and locations will be verified each week.

 *Parents provide own transportation.
Equipment Needed:  Mouth Guards, Cleats/sneakers, shin guards, Field Hockey Goggles, Field Hockey Stick (note: a SMALL number of loaner sticks are available on a first come; first-served basis).

Uniforms Required
(We are using the same uniforms, so if you have one from last year, and it still fits--please use that one).
Goalie Equipment is provided and is to be kept in field storage room.

All UNIFORM components are available on Community Pass.
Uniforms MUST be ordered by 8/30.
If you have a uniform from a prior year and it still fits, you can wear that.  This year's uniform will be very similar.  We are going to start lettering future uniforms with "Watchung Hills Field Hockey" instead of "Long Hill Field Hockey".  As you will learn, in Field Hockey, it's all about the socks (white for HOME games, and black for AWAY).  The Watchung Hills Field Hockey lettering on the uniforms will look very similar to the Long Hill lettering, and it probably won't be that noticeable.

JUNIOR Fall Field Hockey Program

The Junior Fall Field Hockey Program is an instructional field hockey league with a low level of competition and a strong focus on skill development with across the board participation.  All ability levels are welcome.  We also hire an outside organization to come in and teach skills and drills and incorporate this training into our regular practice nights.

All participants will follow additional protocols during the pandemic which may be adjusted as necessary during the season for the Grades 5-8 programs.

If your child is sick, please have them stay home.

All NJDOH and Executive Orders will be followed.

Mouth guards, Cleats, Shin Guards, Field Hockey Goggles are MANDATORY!

A limited number of loaner sticks are available; first come, first served basis.

Program Director:  Kathy Gulbish

As additional Fall information becomes available, it will be posted here.
